As you walk along this path, you will encounter a small 17th century picturesque castle called the “Kastraki”. Continuing on the path, you will meet “Mandraki”, Hydra’s naval station and its actual harbor during the 16th-18th centuries. Today, it has been remodeled as the Hotel Mira Mare. Strolling along the path, you will reach an early 16th century “Castle”, which was reconstructed during the 1821 revolution. Throughout the entire walk, you will see numerous graphic cottages where local islanders reside.
2. Hydra – St. Nikolaos: 55 min

Along the 17th century path to the Monastery of St. Nikolaos, the road is earthen and an easy walk. You will have the opportunity to admire the unique nature scenes of the wild yet, at the same time, hospitable beauty. Towards the end of the path, you will approach the Monastery of St. Nikolaos.
3. Hydra – St.Matrona – St.Triada: 55 min

Your route begins at the Monastery of St.Fotini in the Town of Hydra. As you follow the earthen path, you will reach a stone “Mill” used in the wheat production process during the 18th century. At this point, on the road divides into two paths: One leads to the Monastery of St. Matrona and the other, to St. Nikolaos. You can easily access St. Nikolaos by following the earthen path with a mood for further exploration.
4. Hydra – Hunda Riga: 1hour and 40 min

The path starts at St. Fotini. As you continue along the way, you will meet the Monasteries of St.Triada (1704) and then St. Nikolaos. From St. Nikolaos, you will walk on the earthen path leading you to the middle of the 19th century at “Klisabrinia”. While following the path, the trails gets a little tougher until you will reach the Hunta-Riga, which literally means “the edge of Riga’s nose”. From Hydra-Riga, you can gaze at the deep blue of the Myrtoo sea and bask in its dazzling light.
5. Hydra-Zourva: 2 hours and 45 min

First you will follow the path to Hydra St. Nikolaos. Along the earthen walk, you will view numerous picturesque stones homes, which housed the shepherds of the previous century. The road crosses at the foothill of the Obori mountain (506m); it is referred to the “sheep’s station” in Albanian. From this point and until the Nunnery of Zourvas, the path leads you to many 18th century churches, such as, St. Paraskevi, Prophet Ilias, St. George etc. On your way to Zourvas, you will encounter two dried rivers as if wrinkles on the earthy ground of memory.
6. Hydra – Pr.Ilias – Eros: 60 min

The journey begins at St.Konstadinos’s church. As you continue along the path, you will reach the Monastery of Prophet Ilias, which functioned as a prison during the 1821 revolution. On the way, you will meet the piney forest and the area of the “Old Nun” – the old nunnery. In the courtyard of Prophet Ilias, you will find a cistern with drinkable water to quench your thirst. In the short distance, you can view “Eros”, the highest mountain on the island at 588m. From this point, you can also see of the nicest scenes on the island; you can embrace the endless beauty of creation by viewing the Saronicos Gulf and the Myrtoo Sea.
7. Hydra-Vlychos-Palamidas: 45 min

This path strolls in the midst of the Town of Hydra and the seaside with breathtaking views all along the way to “Kamini”, a natural harbor with a beautiful pebbled beach and traditional taverns for a break. Continuing on the seaside path, you will reach the “Vlycho” settlement and the 17 century bridge with its unique beauty. Past the “Vlycho”, and a good 20-minute walk, you will meet “Palamida” by the sea. Voulgari’s Palace is in view and the home of Kapoudan Pasan. Take in the air and the beauty.
8. Hydra - Episkopi – Nisiza: 1hour and 50 min

The adventure continues on the path Hydra – Vlychos – Palamida. At the church of St. Marina, you can stop and admire the marvelous sight. Walking on to “Episkopi” you will see beautiful traditional buildings, fields and olive groves. This is the most popular place on the island for hunting. Following on the path the road is getting rockier, and then you will meet “Nisiza”. At Nisiza, you will have the opportunity to enjoy one of the most beautiful coastlines on the island.
9. Hydra-Episkopi-Zogeri: 1hour and 50 min

On the way to Zogeri, you will follow the same path as to Nisiza, up to thw point that you will reach Episkopi. You will then ascend the “Barbari” mountain, all the while, viewing lovely quaint cottages and other marvelous nature scenes. Then as you descend the Barbari, you will view the remarkable beauty of the St. Nikolaos beach: a call for swimming. Zogeri continues on the path, and lies on the west coast of the island where you can experience a feeling of freedom anf your thoughts an delve into the horizon.
10. Hydra – St.Mamas – Klimaki: 1 hour and 30 min

This path is one of the most difficult yet, remqrkable routs. Along the way you will meet St.Mamas’ church, a marvelous view of the church built on the side of “Eros” Mountain. St.Mama’s is a quaint traditional white church representative of the island’s distinct architecture. On the 2nd of September, St.Mama’s celebrates and blesses not only its patron visitors, but their mules as well. Everyone is blessed on Hydra! Continuing along the path, you will reach Klimaki, a seaside resort with lovely cottages, small churches and beautiful beaches.
