The Cathedral was built during the 17th century in Ydra Island.
It was reconstructed after the powerful earthquake of 1769.
In the interior of the monastery you can see the great white marble temple. The ecclesiastic museum has a unique collection of heirlooms, such as the Panagia “Rodo Amarando” (1774), the impressive sepulchre of Kokonas. The museum is located in the centre of the hardor of Hydra near hotels, taverns, cafes, shops etc.

There you can admire great paintings dated back to the 18th century, such as the Harta of Rigas Fereos and the embalmed heart of admiral Andreas Miaoulis kept in a silver urn. Is located a few meters from the centre of Hydra's harbor.

Historic Museum of Lazaros Kountouriotis

It is located in the west side of the port and it is an addendum of The National Historic Museum. There you can take a view to the furniture, the paintings and the personal items of Kountouritis family.
On the ground floor you can find paintings of Periklis Byzantinos and his son Konstantinos.
